Principle 1: Language development

Language development is a critical part of your child’s overall development. It supports your child’s ability to communicate, and express and understand feelings. It also supports thinking and problem-solving, and developing and maintaining relationships .Learning to understand, use and enjoy language is the critical first step in literacy, and the basis for learning to read and write.

Principle 2: Physical Development

"Physical Development During the Preschool Years: A gradual progression is observed in children's height, weight, and muscle tone, influencing their outward personality. In addition to promoting a nutritious diet, stakeholders are encouraged to foster both indoor and outdoor sports activities and play to support optimal physical growth and well-being."

Principle 3: Cognitive Development

"The early childhood, encompassing the initial six years of a child's life, emerges as a pivotal and transformative period crucial for physical, mental, and behavioral growth and development. It marks a phase wherein a child can either flourish positively or face potential setbacks due to negative environmental influences. This underscores the importance for educators to facilitate, rather than restrict, young children from exploring their world. While vigilant monitoring is essential, providing opportunities for children to develop their thinking skills through engaging activities is equally paramount."

Academics

Principle 4: Motor Skills development

"Motor Development: Emphasizing both gross and fine motor skills, particularly through hand-eye coordination, is crucial for young learners. These skills not only lay the foundation for writing proficiency in later stages but also contribute to enjoyable activities like coloring and cutting, which further enhance these abilities. Motor development stands as a key determinant of cognitive skill development in children."

Principle 5: Numeracy Skill development

"Mathematics is omnipresent in our surroundings, and children naturally absorb early numeracy concepts, including number recognition, without the need for abstraction. However, as children progress, mathematics can become a perceived taboo or burden if the foundational understanding is not robust. In other words, stakeholders play a crucial role in establishing a solid base for students by emphasizing pre-numeracy concepts."
